Director General of Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission Visits KAERI

During the visit of Dr. Lazaro Busagala, the Director General of Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission, to ARTI (Advanced Radiation Technology Institute, Jeongeup), a meeting was held with the President of KAERI, Dr. Joo Han Gyu.

The Tanzanian delegation presented their plans to import an Electron Beam (E-beam) accelerator for cancer therapy and emphasized the significance of nuclear energy in enhancing the quality of healthcare services in Tanzania. They expressed their interest in developing human resources and capacity building in the field of nuclear energy, and requested support from the Korean side.

Dr. Joo expressed his support by offering technical assistance and expertise to Tanzania, and suggested that the ODA (Official Development Assistance) program could be a valuable resource.

This visit serves as a strong foundation for future discussions and potential collaborations between the two agencies.
