A team of master’s degree students in Nuclear Eng. Dep’t from UAE Khalifa Univ. of Science, Technology and Research(KUSTAR), visited KAERI on July 7, 2011 as part of their recent visit KAIST.  

Under the multi-lateral agreement for education and human resources development inked among several organizations both from Korea and UAE, KAIST has cooperated with KUSTAR for scholar exchange to promote knowledge transfer developing new curricular at KUSTAR.

Recognizing the importance of human resources development in line with its plan to introduce nuclear power program, UAE has put a lot of efforts to establish necessary infrastructures to this end.

The Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR) was inaugurated on 13 February 2007 by the President of the UAE and it is an Abu Dhabi Government initiative and is owned solely by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

A Web-portal and cyber platform to promote Web-based education and training activities in nuclear science and technology under the Asian Network for Education in Nuclear Technology(ANENT) framework has been established and operated at KUSTAR and it has contributed towards the education and training of experts required for the establishment of nuclear infrastructures. It has a special meaning for KAERI as the Web-portal and cyber platform which was jointly developed and operated by the IAEA and KAERI following the signing of the Practical Arrangements in September 2009, will be fully utilized for the benefit of UAE. Also a practical arrangement between IAEA and KUSTAR was signed on Sept., 21, 2010 at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna to cooperate in establishing an e-Learning Portal at KUSTAR, based on the ANENT Web.
