The participants of the Global Initiative to Combat Nuclear Terrorism(GICNT) Plenary Meeting visited KAERI on 30 June 2011 on the sideline of their participation at the GICNT plenary meeting hosted by the Korean government in Daejeon, on 29-30 June.

They were welcomed by a KAERI senior management and made a tour of KAERI facilities, HANARO research reactor and ATLAS.

Nuclear terrorism is one of the most challenging threats that the international community faces today. The 2011 GICNT Plenary Meeting hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade(MOFAT) provided a unique opportunity for partners to discuss, among other items, ways to strengthen our global capacity for the prevention, detection, and proper response to nuclear terrorism, and to help strengthen any strategic oversights and aid in the coordination of GICNT activities.
